About
Meet our second cohort and the publishers who are taking their media platforms to the next level.
The BOMESI Accelerator Upfront is an opportunity for the seven publishers from our program to showcase their platforms and share their missions to a room of advertisers, investors, executives, and industry leaders.
About the Program
The BOMESI Accelerator is on a mission to increase the number of Diverse and Black-owned media companies that are well-positioned to do business sustainably with the nation’s top advertisers.
We focus on infrastructure, ecosystem building, and audience development to increase deal flow and total investment to a greater number of Diverse and Black-owned media platforms, amplifying their voices to help build a more equitable future.
This multi-year accelerator runs two cohorts per year, each focused on creating sustainable business growth for Diverse and Black-owned media platforms, amplifying their voices to help build a more equitable future. Each cohort puts seven Diverse and Black-owned publishers on an accelerated growth trajectory, supported by a host of mentors, community leaders, and partners.
Publishers gain access to BOMESI’s expertise and network, a $25,000 non-dilutive grant, and pitching opportunities among influential figures in the industry.

About the panel:
If you're a brand you likely have encountered roadblocks when it comes to activating spend across diverse-owned media that include things like lack of scale, lack of tech infrastructure, or lack of response from the media leadership. If you're a publisher, you likely have experienced challenges when it comes to accessing programmatic, evaluating ad-tech partners, and simply having the budget to allocate to publish more content and increase your scale. There are challenges on both sides, so where does the solution lie?
The solution lies in taking bold action, within a brand-safe environment of course. The solution lies in technology. Unfortunately, tech is not inclusive! In the advertising and tech industry communities of color have been systematically excluded. To bridge this divide, advertisers and tech companies must address inequities within their ranks and tackle biases that are hindering diversity. This session will address the good, bad, and ugly of DE&I in advertising and tech while highlighting the companies that are dedicating time and resources to improving infrastructure and leveling the playing field.
